Congressman David Young

Representing the 3rd District of Iowa

Talk to David

Congressman David Young's Open Office Hours service for residents of Iowa's Third District Coffee with my Congressman

Hardworking taxpayers deserve a government that is not only accountable, but also one that listens and is in touch with the people.

Congressman Young travels to each one of the sixteen counties that make up the Third Congressional District at least once each month hosting thousands of meetings and visiting with tens of thousands of Iowans each year.

In addition to communications through these meetings and visits, emails, phone calls and letters Congressman Young is committed to providing frequent opportunities for Iowans to personally discuss with him their thoughts, opinions and ideas on the issue impacting them, Iowa and the nation. Two of those services include his Open Office Hours Events and his Coffee With My Congressman Meetings.

The Iowa based coffee town meetings and Capitol Hill coffee events are an easy and inviting way for Iowans to engage in meaningful conversations about issues important to them, ask questions, share ideas, or even just stop by to say hello. Congressman Young hosts a Coffee with My Congressman Town Meeting in every one of the 16 counties of the Third Congressional District each year - in 2017 Congressman Young held 17.

Congressman David Young began offering a new resource in 2017 for Iowans in the Third Congressional District to make sure their voices are heard or are getting help in solving problems they may be having with a federal agency. Open Office Hours provides Third District Iowans the opportunity to meet one-on-one with Congressman Young and discuss opinions, concerns, and ideas about the issues being discussed in Congress or to seek assistance, or discuss problems they are having, with a federal agency.

Du ring each Open Office Hours event Congressman Young sits down for individual, ten minute meetings with constituents in attendance to discuss personal concerns, opinions and possible casework needs on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants must be residents of one of the 16 counties of Iowa’s Third Congressional District.
