President Trump has chosen to decertify the Iran Nuclear Deal. This means the administration believes the deal is no longer in the national security interests of the United States. As required by law, Congress has 60 days to decide whether or not to pull out of the deal and reimpose the sanctions which were lifted when the deal was signed.
When watching or reading news, we often hear the strides our economy is making – from the low unemployment rate in our state to the stock market continuing to set record highs nearly every week. However, when speaking with folks across the Third District, recognize not all our friends and neighbors are seeing the benefits of our improving economy.
As I travel across the Third District, families share with me heartbreaking stories of loved ones they’ve lost to the opioid epidemic. Unfortunately, stories about families and communities being torn apart by addiction and despair are ones we’re hearing more and more about.

Congressman Young’s testimony focused on the work the community of Bridgewater, Iowa is doing to combat opioids and other illegal drug use in their community.
