The first of two Veterans Care Fairs by Iowa Congressman David Young kicks-off this Saturday. These events are a one-stop-shop to connect veterans with a wide range of options and opportunities available to them. And with over 20 different agencies, organizations and universities confirmed to attend there will be something there for everyone.

Whether it's finding a job, an affordable place to live, getting the right medical care, securing benefits, or maybe just connecting with someone to talk to who understands their experience, it's not always a smooth transition back to civilian life.

Back in June, I voted for and Congress passed Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) to ensure a transparent process to review the full trade agreement. Now that TPP negotiations are complete, President Obama must send the full trade agreement to Congress. And that is just the first step. The deal cannot be implemented unless Congress passes legislation to approve it along with the other 11 nations involved in the deal.

Iowa veterans are being invited to attend two Veterans Care Fairs in October and November. The veterans assistance and information fairs, hosted by Iowa’s 3rd District Congressman David Young, are being set up to provide information about the benefits and services that are available to Iowa veterans from federal, state and local agencies, colleges and universities, charities and service organizations.
