As Iowans we know our word means something. We also know when you put your name on something, you take more time to consider the results and produce a better work product.
As the President addressed Congress and Americans this week – he outlined his priorities for this great nation.
The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

For the past eight years, healthcare has been the subject of intense debate and discussion in Iowa, Washington D.C., and the nation.
Rural Iowa is God’s country. There’s something special about living and working in the heartland but we all know rural America has seen some recent economic challenges. These challenges risk people leaving rural areas to seek opportunities elsewhere. Here in Iowa, our communities are working hard to reverse these trends by building and starting new businesses in rural areas across the state.
As I travel through Iowa’s Third District each week, I hear frustrations from many of our friends and neighbors who simply want Washington to get out of the way and stop telling them how to live their lives or run their businesses.
