Iowa Congressman David Young and Congressmen Gus Bilarkis (FL-12), Raul Ruiz (CA-36), and Peter Welch (VT-AL) introduced the Protection for Veterans Burn Pit Exposure Act of 2018 (H.R. 6582) to deliver care to veterans suffering from their exposure to burn pits.
2018 is quickly passing by and it’s important to reflect on our accomplishments as a community and country, and continue to strive towards improvements for Iowa.
The first half of 2018 has been busy and productive. I’ve been working hard on behalf of my bosses - the folks of Iowa’s Third District. I wanted to take a moment to report to you on just some of my work so far this year.

Just over a month ago, I wrote Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt had “hurt farmers, workers, and simply, hurt Iowa.” I said this because his actions were undercutting the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) by handing out financial “hardship” waivers to a company which made a $1.5 billion profit in 2017.
